Project 366 v5

Um? Hello end of January. How are you? Flip. I cant believe that the first month of this
year is over. It has definitely flown by and so much has been happening. I have had a couple of job interviews, although nothing has come of anything as yet. But, I am trying not to get discouraged {though its hard. for sure} I have a little bit of design work on the run and the weekends are busy with photography, so thats fun. Oh! And while I remember, Pinny Me Up! is officially on etsy. You can find the lovely little aprons right here. And this afternoon I have been busy crafting a lovely little accessory for a bridal shower I am attending on Sunday, its pretty cute if I do say so myself {you might just get a peek in next weeks 366 installment}

Photobooks are the new black.

Photos are one of my favourite things in the world. I mean, who doesn't love them right? And what could be better than a photo album. Well, I think I might have the answer to that question my friends. A photo book. A fully personalised, completely one of a kind, duth linen covered, professionally published book. Now thats what I am talking about! Not only is the ultimate memento for you to keep, they make really special presents for family and maybe even those special friends! Kelly and Jamie decided to not only get themselves a beautiful coffee table book, but they had mini books made as gifts for their parents. I am thinking that this is amazing. Yes I am!

Ok so I know what's coming. Something that amazing must be super expensive right? {Oh wow I sound like a infomercial right now huh?!} but the cool thing is they actually aren't. I have found an amazing publishing company who have worked with me to create some really amazing competitive prices. I am so happy to be able to offer to offer these as part of my service package. Its very exciting I tell you! For more information, a price menu or just to say hello {I'd love to meet you!}, drop me a line.

Kelly & Jamie

While I was trying to decide what photos to share for this beautiful wedding, I had about 100 that I wanted to share...Kelly and Jamie's day was just so beautiful, full of love, and so much fun. The wedding was held in the beautiful Wairarapa, and while there wasn't perfect blue skies, the cloud made for some beautiful shots throughout the day. Kelly looked absolutely beautiful {I mean come on! Look at that dress!} and seeing Jamie's face as she walked down the isle was just priceless. We were lucky enough to be able to use a private estate for a wee photoshoot after the ceremony, it was simply breathtaking and just made my job so easy.

Project 366 v.4

The last few days have been good. I have had a bit of time to do my own thing, which also means for me getting back into the healthy lifestyle which I had committed to before christmas. I am back to eating healthy and back to the gym 5-6 times a week. I won't lie, I am hurting a little bit from the workouts and I have had a few headaches, but I am starting to feel much better which is a bonus. Today I managed to get out of the city and take my camera on a little trip, as well as scouting for some great locations for an upcoming wedding, and as a little bonus I got to hang out with the cutest little nearly two year old while I was doing it. I hope your 2012 is going just as good as mine.

Anna-Maria & Shaun

My beautiful friends Anna-Maria and Shaun recently got engaged, and you know what that means right? Engagement Party Time! It was such a beautiful fun night, full of champagne, a candy bar, long over due catch ups and a whole lot of love. Oh and of course, the most wonderful greek celebrations including the very talented woman of Anna's family showing off their amazing greek dance moves! While I wasn't officially working, I couldn't help but snap a few photos {I even managed to get into one!}. Anna-Maria and Shaun, I love you bunches, thank you so much for letting me celebrate with you, I just can't wait for the wedding!

I have always had a bit of an obsession with the 1950's. The style, the art, the music, the lifestyle, and recently a friend asked me if I would be able to help him make up something special for his lady for her birthday. Seeings as she is an avid baker it was pretty clear to me that a cute little apron would be the perfect gift, so I channelled my inner housewife, and got to work. After the first one was made, a few friends thought they might fancy a wee pinny too. Suddenly I had made about 7 of the pretty little things, and realised I may be onto something. So I spent a couple of nights sewing like a little seamstress infront of my mums super old but wonderfully reliable sewing machine {she got it before I was even born!} and viola! Pinny Me Up! was official and The Paper Doll collection was born. They will be up on Etsy very soon, and I have already started collecting new fabrics for the second collection which will be hopefully made and ready for winter. Do you have a favourite one? I would love to know which one you like the best!

What a crazy few days, its been super busy, I have been to one of my best friends engagement party, had a job interview, an extreme bathroom renovation started to take place at my house, and my diploma arrived. Phew! And its only going to get busier, two hens parties, weddings and wedding prep and a few freelance projects on the go to. Oh yes, can you keep your fingers crossed for me too? The job I interviewed for is like, a dream job! I hopefully will find out in a few days! So fingers crossed folks.

Eden Island Summer Escape

Welcome to the Eden Island Summer Escape, also known as my final studio project for 2011. My final campaign included Poster Design, tickets and identification, A two set CD pack (including fully designed Liner notes, CD labels and CD case) and a special V.I.P Pack which would be included in the sale of a V.I.P Ticket which included, a disposable camera, mineral water can, sunblock, an offical EISE singlet and of course, some jellybeans! I had happy with my final campaign, and even though the initial concept took a while to fully assemble {I think I just had so many ideas it was hard to decide on one style} it is definitely one of my favourite pieces in my portfolio.

Amy & David

Karioitahi Beach was the setting for Amy & Davids most beautiful wedding, and set the scene it certainly did.  It really is places like this that make me really realise that New Zealand is literally one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Without a doubt.  The sun was shining, the beautiful black sand was sparkling and the bride was absolutely stunning. The wedding was just perfect, these two are just so in love, and it was a joy to stand behind the camera and capture some of the moments that they shared.

Project 366 v.2

The last 6 days have been busy ones, and yet, I can't really tell you what I have done exactly. I am between jobs at the moment so things kind of feel like they are in limbo, and while I have a bunch of freelance stuff that I am working on, I am starting to miss having a bit of a routine in place {I am sure once I am back working full time I will change my mind about this...} I mean don't get me wrong, I am loving the whole sleeping in thing, and taking my time to do things but I am starting to get a bit restless and am really looking forward to have a few pennies in my wallet soon.

Jenny & Ian

It's a pretty huge privilege to be entrusted to capture the important moments in someones lives. Its not everyday that you get to celebrate the things that are so special, like growing another year older or falling in love. I was especially honoured to be asked to photograph Jenny & Ian's commitment ceremony a few months ago, because you see that beautiful blonde up there getting her make up done, that is my beautiful mother. The day was perfect, spent with their families and closest friends. It was intimate and so full of love, and laughter, and all the good things that life should be filled with.
